We slowly increased the pure bred Simmentals over the years, buying from dispersal sales all over England and Scotland , including some of our great fleshy cows from the late John Marshall of the Solway herd. In 1988 Tony brought Brinkton Sovreign from Perth sale where he was overall champion. This was the start of our success!! He ran with our herd of Simmentals for the next four years, and was sire of most of our show cows. |

We bought Gretna House Supersonic in 1992 from the late Mr Finny, and ran him with our Sovreign heifers, and as a main herd sire. He was here for seven years, sadly at the age of 13 we had to have him put down, but he ran with the cows right up to the end.
At present we have around 100 x-breed suckler cows, 30 pedigree Simmentals and
12 Aberdeen-Angus. We are hoping to increase numbers over the next year or so, with a figure of 200 in mind!
Our Simmental herd sire, Blackford Nobleman, is leaving some very promising calves with tremendous size and fleshing.
Since 2003 Phillida's son Edward has been managing the herd. His experience was limited after 12 years at Lotus Engineering, however he makes up for it in enthusiasm. We were very pleased and excited to have won the South East Group large and overall herd competition this year (06). We're also very pleased with how our herds look now.
Visitors are always welcome.
