You can find us in the heart of North Norfolk, a conservation area just north of the river Bure, Consequentially we have many water meadows, this is where we run our suckler herds.

Twyford Simmentals were started in 1982  at Twyford  in Norfolk, where Tony lived for 26 years. He went to the Forstal dispersal sale and bought Forstal Lombard, Lena and Forstal Linda. He ran them with his suckler cows untill 1984. He then on marrying Phillida moved the suckler cows to Beck Farm and increased the herd to about a hundred Blue/Grey and x-bred cows.

Slowly we increased the pure bred Simmentals over the years, buying from dispersal sales all over England and Scotland, including buying some great fleshy cows from the late John Marshall of the Solway herd in Scotland. In 1988 Tony bought Brinkton Sovreign from Perth Bull sale, where he was overall Champion. This was the start of our success! He ran with our herd of Simmentals for the next four years, and was the sire of most of our show cows!

Gretna House Supersonic was bought in 1992 from the late Mr Finny, and ran him with our Sovreign heifer and our main herd sire. He was here for seven years, sadly at the age of thirteen we had to have him put down, but he ran with the cows right up to the end.

Next Balmanno Hitman arrived,  bought privately from Mrs Jukes. He was our herd sire for two and half years, he left some very correct cattle.

In 2003 Tony went back to Perth Bull sales and bought another Perth champion, Blackford Nobleman, he is seven years later still our main herd sire! , also in 2003 Phillida's son Eddie took over managing the herds, we say herds, because the Simmentals were complimented by a herd of Aberdeen Angus! www.wickmereangus.co.uk

In 2009 Kilbride Farm Valour was purchased from W H.Robson & son, to run with our Nobleman daughters. The results look promissing.

There are around 40 Pedigree Simmental cows, 40 Pedigree Aberdeen Angus and 100 x-bred cows which run with our home bred Angus and Simmental Bulls. Our x-bred cows are all home bred and the replacement heifers are Sim/Angus X and are mostly polled.

We have stock for sale all the year, vistors are always welcome.
